When it comes to potentially signing an UDFA in camp, is there a typical list of what positions match up with what types of evaluation to determine future success? Like do certain drill performances at certain positions usually lead to roster decisions?

The best evaluations are live game action, even if pre-season. Drills rarely influence a roster decision. For instance, the combine is an important part of evaluations by teams for the draft but ultimately how a player played in live game action matters the most.
UDFA make their mark and earn roster spots sometimes by standing out on special teams. With the new rules though you may have less guys on rosters who are special teams specialists like a Kasim Osgood/WR (Pro-Bowl gunner) or Montell Owens/FB.

Ask me anything about the NFL, player contracts, and NFL current events
